When you are going to access Microsoft SharePoint server(2007), you can select one of three methods.
1) Site owner has added you to the site and you have given proper permissions to browse
2) You are going to request access permission from the site before browsing.
3) You create your own site and then you can add other people and groups to your site.
Requesting access to a site
If you try to access a site and an error message appears,Like "Access Denied"
you need to request permissions from the site owner by clicking Request access and entering some information in the request form that appears.
Creating a new SharePoint site
SharePoint Server 2007, it easy to create your own site. When you create a new site, you have an ability to choose from several templates that provide an excellent starting point.
These templates contain pages, lists, libraries, and other elements are really help your team work together on projects, collaborate on documents, and manage meetings.
If you finish selecting the template that best meets your needs, you can add, remove, and customize the appearance of its elements, such as
